SF Mayor Lee Makes It Clear To 49ers Fans: 'Don't Trash The City'
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)— San Francisco's Mayor Ed Lee is sending a clear message that on that Super Bowl Sunday, revelers who think they can come trash the city after the game are not welcome. The mayor wants to make sure there isn't a repeat of the vandalism that broke out after the Giants won the World Series last October.
That night, fans poured out into the streets, setting bonfires to dumpsters on Mission Street and set a Muni bus on fire on Market Street. Lee said plans are already in the works to make sure that kind of celebrating doesn't happen again.
"Chief Suhr and all the other law enforcement agencies are already meeting with our emergency management and my office is directly engaged in making sure we plan for areas [that we know of] in the city that have historically been celebrating points," Lee said.

He said he's going to be walking those corridors in the coming days to reassure business owners that the city and police won't let that kind of riotous behavior repeat itself, which is partly why he hasn't decided yet if he's going to go to the game.
He's also a bit superstitious and said the Giants won on the road and the NFC Championship was won on the road, without him. He has reached out to Baltimore for a friendly wager figuring he needs an entree to go along with the 25 pounds of peaches he just won from Atlanta when the NIners beat the Falcons.
The 49ers face the Baltimore Ravens on February 3rd in New Orleans.
