SF Mayor Ed Lee Touts Jobs, Economy In State Of The City Address
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee held his first State of the City speech in the city's Bayview District on Monday.
Touting an economic rebirth in San Francisco and outlining an ambitious agenda for the coming year, Lee said it's been a successful year for job creation, commercial construction and attracting tech companies to the city.
"The state of our great city and county of San Francisco is vital, it's resurgent and it's strong," he said.

Among the items Lee said he plans to tackle in 2013 were improving service for San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency and fixing San Francisco's troubled Housing Authority, which he said he wants to dismantle.
"No more poverty housing that traps generation after generation in socially, racially and economically isolated complexes," Lee said.
While congratulating both the San Francisco Giants and San Francisco 49ers on their seasons, he used them as a backdrop for one of his other big projects, bringing the Warriors to a new waterfront arena in San Francisco.
Along with the economy, jobs, housing and transportation, Mayor Lee announced he will propose nearly $50 million for public schools and an annual $25 million for universal pre-school.
