SF Giants' Pablo Sandoval Investigated As Suspect In Sexual Assault
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- San Francisco Giants player Pablo Sandoval is under investigation in connection with a sexual assault that allegedly occurred in Aptos Friday morning, a Santa Cruz County sheriff's spokeswoman said Saturday.
The sheriff's office received a complaint of a sexual assault at 4:25 a.m. Friday morning, spokeswoman Deputy April Skalland said.
KCBS' Jeffrey Schaub Reports:
The victim told deputies a small group of people met in downtown Santa Cruz Thursday night, and then went to a resort in Aptos where the incident allegedly occurred.
Sandoval, 25, was named as the suspect in the complaint.
On Friday sheriff's officials interviewed the baseball player with his attorney, Skalland said. He has not been detained nor arrested.
"He was cooperative," she said.
Calls to Sandoval's lawyer and the Giants offices were not returned Saturday.
