Suspicious Package In SF Hayes Valley Found Harmless By Bomb Squad
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A San Francisco bomb squad responded to a report of a suspicious package in the city's Hayes Valley neighborhood Sunday afternoon.
The package, which turned out to be someone's suitcase, was reportedly left unattended near Laguna and Hayes streets at about 12:10 p.m., San Francisco police Sgt. Danielle Newman said.
Both streets were blocked off and residents in the area were temporarily advised to shelter in place.
A police bomb unit was called to the scene, which was in the process of being cleared at about 12:35 p.m.
