Female Sexually Battered In Stairwell At San Jose State University

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A female was sexually battered in a building on the San Jose State University campus on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. on the second floor landing of a stairwell in Duncan Hall on the SJSU campus, according to university police.

University police said that after the sexual battery occurred, the suspect ran up the stairs and has not been located.

The suspected assailant is described as a male in his 20s with black, spiky hair. He was wearing a dark gray sweatshirt with a hood, dark pants and a navy blue backpack at the time of the assault, university police said.

It was not clear whether the victim or the suspect are students at SJSU.
