Homeland Security Exercise Set For Sunday Afternoon At San Jose Caltrain Station
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority announced they would conduct a prevention and response exercise Sunday afternoon at the San Jose Diridon Caltrain station.
The Santa Clara VTA is working with the Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration and has staffed agents and Federal Air Marshals around the station for a visible prevention and response operation from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., according to Caltrain.
The exercise will be conducted at the VTA light rail station and will not affect Caltrain or Amtrak services.
The exercise is intended to serve as a deterrent to criminal behavior and terrorism and was planned before last week's developments related to the killing of Osama bin Laden.
