Security Concerns Not Enough To Shake Bay Area Olympians' Confidence
SAN JOSE (KCBS)— Bay Area Olympic athletes admit to being worried about security ahead of Friday's Winter Olympics opening ceremonies in Sochi, Russia, but at the same time there are not over-thinking it.
15-year-old Mitty High School student, Polina Edmunds, has been skating since she was two. She's especially excited about being a part of the U.S. Women's Figure Skating team and that the competition is taking place in Russia, where her mother was born. Much of her family still lives there.
"Just to go back to where my mom's home country is for the Olympics is spectacular," Edmunds said.
