Second Strong Earthquake Rocks The Solomon Islands
SOLOMON ISLANDS (CBS SF) -- The U.S. Geological Survey says a 6.0-magnitude earthquake has struck the Solomon Islands, less than a day after a 6.9 quake struck the region.
The USGS says Thursday quake's epicenter was located 35 miles southeast of Honiara, and struck at a depth of 6 miles.
The quake struck at 12:32 p.m. PDT.
There is no tsunami threat from this earthquake, according to NOAA's Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
