Searchers Looking For Missing UC Davis Student Find Human Remains
SACRAMENTO (CBS SF) - Sacramento police are investigating whether a decomposed body found Friday was that of a UC Davis student missing since June.
The body was found around 10:15 a.m. in a wooded area of the River Park neighborhood. The location is not far from where Linnea Lomax walked away from a mental health appointment at an outpatient therapy center more than two months ago.
"It appears to be a female," said Officer Doug Morse with the Sacramento Police Department.

The coroner has yet to identify the body. Morse said the cause of death does not appear suspicious.
Lomax suffered a breakdown while studying for finals, her family said.
Volunteer search parties have gone out every week since June 26 trying to find Lomax. In August, one of those search parties found one of Lomax's notebooks on the American River Bike Trail, not far from where the body was found on Friday.
