Schwarzenegger Sons Born Less Than A Week Apart
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - New details have surfaced about the woman who gave birth to former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's love child.
Patricia Baena was Schwarzenegger's longtime housekeeper and the woman with whom he fathered a child several years before his election -- a secret they both kept for nearly 14 years.
A birth certificate has surfaced showing the child, a boy, was born in October 1997 -- just a week after Shriver gave birth to their youngest son, Christopher. Baena got divorced less than a month later. Settlement papers reveal she claimed she and her husband had no children.
Less than a week after the boy's birth, Maria Shriver delivered the couple's youngest son, Christopher. Both women were pregnant at the same time – in the same house.
Schwarzenegger has been supporting the teenager he fathered with Baena. The boy lives with his mother in a four bedroom home in Bakersfield. The former governor spent $270,000 for the home last July.
Celebrity gossip website TMZ reported Thursday that before she was fired, Baena would sometimes dress in Shriver's clothing, wear her jewelry, and even seek the former First Lady's love advice.
Meanwhile, Maria Shriver has hired a top divorce lawyer, but hasn't decided yet whether she wants to divorce Schwarzenegger, according to People magazine.
It quotes sources close to Shriver as saying Laura Wasser, described as a "prominent Los Angeles family law attorney," is representing Shriver.
"Maria hasn't decided yet if she wants to end her marriage," People quotes one source as saying. Wasser was hired before word of Schwarzenegger's affair became public, People adds.
Also Thursday, Schwarzenegger asked his talent agency to put all of his pending entertainment projects on hold as he focuses on his personal life.
A statement from Schwarzenegger's office Thursday says former "Terminator" star has asked Creative Artists Agency to put all of his motion picture projects currently under way or being negotiated on hold until further notice.
"Governor Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines.
This includes Cry Macho, The Terminator franchise and other projects under consideration. We will resume discussions when Governor Schwarzenegger decides." the statement said.
