School Bus Strikes Girl In Milpitas Crosswalk
MILPITAS (BCN) -- A school bus struck a 10-year-old girl in a crosswalk in Milpitas Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The girl was making her way across the street with a friend near Edsel and Roswell drives at 2:08 p.m. when a school bus that was turning left struck her, and she fell down, CHP Officer Steve Griefer said.
She wasn't seriously hurt and her friend wasn't injured, but the girl was taken to a hospital as a precaution. Her parents weren't at the scene and she had complained of pain to her side, Griefer said.
Parents and guardians picked up passengers on the bus, Griefer said.
No arrests were made and no other injuries were reported.
The CHP is investigating the accident, Griefer said.
