School Bus Catches Fire In Concord, Students Unharmed
CONCORD (CBS SF) -- A Mount Diablo Unified School District bus carrying students caught fire Friday afternoon in Concord, fire and school district officials said.
Crews from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of a smoking school bus on Willow Pass Road near the Interstate 680 on-ramp at 2:39 p.m., a fire dispatcher said.
Once they arrived, an apparent fire had been put out and everyone on board had been able to get off the bus safely, the dispatcher said.
A school district employee said there were students on board but nobody, including the bus driver, was injured.
