Santa Rosa teen arrested after loaded gun found in school locker
Santa Rosa police arrested a 16-year-old high school boy after a gun was found in his school locker Wednesday morning.
Police said they were contacted around 10:42 a.m. and informed that a gun may have been brought onto the Montgomery High School campus. According to police, the report identified three 16-year-old boys as possibly being in possession of the gun.
Officers quickly detained the three teens after getting to the school, with the help of school staff.
Police said the gun was found in the locker of one of the teens, and that through hours of investigation, alongside school staff, they suspected the gun to be in the "sole possession of the student who had concealed it in his locker."
Because he is a minor, he was not identified. But police said the teen was arrested on suspicion of possession of a loaded handgun on campus and being a minor in possession of a handgun.
He was taken to juvenile hall.
