Santa Rosa Sex Assault Suspect Arrested
SANTA ROSA (BCN) - A reported sexual assault in southern Santa Rosa early Friday morning led to the Saturday arrest of one man, the Santa Rosa Police Department said.
At about 4:20 a.m. Friday, police responded to the alleged assault on the 2100 block of Stony Point Road, the department said. The victim, a 23-year-old Santa Rosa resident, told detectives she had been raped in her home by an acquaintance, police said.
The department's Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Team took over the investigation and spent 36 hours confirming a tentative identity of the suspect, who was ultimately determined to be Adelaido Santana, also a 23-year-old Santa Rosa resident, police said.
Santana apparently learned that detectives were searching for him and was arrested on Saturday at the Santa Rosa police department without incident, police said. He was then transported to the Sonoma County jail, where he was booked on suspicion of rape.
Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call Detective Deleon of the Santa Rosa Police Department's Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Team at (707) 543-3595.
