Suspects In Santa Rosa Fatal Stabbing Arrested In Tracy
SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- Two men suspected of fatally stabbing a man during a fight in Santa Rosa Wednesday evening have been arrested in Tracy, Santa Rosa police Lt. John Cregan said Thursday afternoon.
The suspects have been identified as Johnny Luis Martinez, 20, and Gabriel Cardin Heredia, 25, both of Santa Rosa.
According to Santa Rosa police, they received a 911 call of a fight in the 1200 Block of Slater Street at about 7:46 p.m. Wednesday. When Officers arrived, all parties were gone and they were reported to have left in separate vehicles.
The victim was driven by someone to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Santa Rosa. He was transferred to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital where he died, police said.
The suspects fled in a vehicle believed to be a white Chevrolet Equinox with a California license plate 6YZM739, police said.
The ensuing investigation has revealed that the victim had become involved in a physical confrontation with two subjects. During that confrontation, the victim received an undisclosed number of stab wounds.
The victim's name was not be released pending next of kin notification.
