Santa Rosa Man Shot During Home Invasion Robbery

SANTA ROSA (CBS/BCN) -- A man was shot during a home invasion robbery in Santa Rosa on Friday morning, a police detective said Saturday.

The shooting was reported shortly before 9:55 a.m. at a home in the 700 block of Dutton Avenue. Officers arrived and found the 41-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to a local hospital where he was in stable condition as of this morning, according to police Detective Steve Rakoski.

Detectives learned that the shooting occurred after three men forced their way into the victim's home while he was alone on Friday morning. The suspects bound the victim during the robbery and shot him prior to leaving the home, police said.

No arrests have been made in connection with the robbery and shooting and no suspect information was available as of this morning, Rakoski said.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Rakoski or Sgt. Steve Fraga of the Santa Rosa Police Department's violent crimes team at (707) 543-3590.

A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered by the Sonoma County Alliance for information leading to the arrest of the suspects in the case.
