Santa Rosa Man Arrested On Suspicion Of 4th DUI

SANTA ROSA (BCN) -- Santa Rosa police arrested a man with three prior DUI arrests for another DUI as he sat in his car outside a relative's house Tuesday afternoon.

Sgt. Rich Celli said police went to a Gardenview Circle residence in the Fountain Grove area of Santa Rosa around 1 p.m. where Jeffrey Martin Young was in an argument with a family member.

Young, 43, of Santa Rosa appeared to be intoxicated as he sat in his 2005 Mercedes E55 sedan with the keys in his lap in front of the residence, Celli said.

Police did not see Young driving the vehicle but Young's family members said they saw him driving up to the residence, Celli said. Officers determined Young was driving while intoxicated and was in control of the vehicle when they contacted him, Celli said.

Young refused to take a chemical test to measure his blood alcohol level at the scene, but a sample was taken at a hospital where he was taken before being booked into Sonoma County Jail for DUI, Celli said. The suspect's vehicle was towed from the scene.

Young was convicted in 2002 for DUI and he was arrested for DUI in Rohnert Park on Nov. 23 and in Napa on Dec. 16, Celli said.

Young was out on bail for the two previous DUI arrests when he was arrested Tuesday, Celli said.
