A Santa Rosa police officer spotted a subject on a motorcycle committing a vehicle code violation shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday and began a vehicle pursuit, according to Sgt. David Boettger.
When the motorcyclist saw the officer following, he allegedly accelerated and attempted to flee.
The pursuit continued on surface streets in northwest Santa Rosa and into Windsor, with the motorcyclist allegedly violating a number of laws along the way, Boettger said.
The chase ended at Mark West Station Road when the motorcycle developed mechanical problems, according to Boettger.
The driver, identified as Randy William Pippin, of Santa Rosa, was taken into custody and booked on suspicion of felony evading police, driving on a suspended driver's license, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation, Boettger said.
