Santa Rosa Man Arrested For Flinging Hot Dog At Tiger Woods
SAN MARTIN (CBS SF) - A 31-year-old Santa Rosa man was arrested for disturbing the peace on Sunday after he ran toward Tiger Woods and flung a hot dog at the golf star during a tournament in San Martin.
Woods, who was in town for the Frys.com Open at the CordeValle Golf Club, was standing over a putt at the No. 7 hole shortly after 2 p.m. when a spectator came charging toward him yelling "Tiger! Tiger!," sheriff's Sgt. Jose Cardoza said.

The man was carrying a hot dog, which slipped out of his hand and flew into the air but didn't hit Woods, Cardoza said. When the man saw security officers and deputies running after him, he kneeled on the ground and lay down on the grass.
He was escorted to the security office where he was arrested for disturbing the peace. He was released with a citation, for which he may have to pay court fines and perform community service, Cardoza said.
Because the offense is a misdemeanor, the man's name has not been released. Cardoza said it is unclear what provoked the man to go after Woods. He said the man cooperated with officers, and that it appears he did not throw the hot dog intentionally.
"He was not intoxicated or on drugs," Cardoza said. "When we asked him why he did it, he didn't elaborate. He just shook his head without saying anything, like he felt bad." Cardoza said the tournament resumed shortly thereafter and that Woods continued playing.
