Santa Cruz County Officers Arrest Man Carrying Stolen Credit Cards, Burglary Tools
SANTA CRUZ (CBS SF) -- A man was arrested early Saturday morning near Santa Cruz after deputies found him in possession of burglary tools and stolen credit cards, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office.
The incident began when deputies were patrolling near Dominican Hospital and tried to stop a man riding a bicycle in the area, according to sheriff's officials.
The suspect, later identified as 30-year-old Michael France, refused to stop and kept riding his bicycle. France then ran on foot and led deputies on a brief chase, sheriff's officials said.
After apprehending France, deputies learned he had a warrant for his arrest. Deputies also found him in possession of burglary tools, stolen credit cards and other stolen property.
Deputies arrested France and booked him into the Santa Cruz County jail, according to sheriff's officials.
