Santa Clara Lawmakers Vote To Put Pot Tax On November Ballot
SANTA CLARA (CBS SF) -- Santa Clara is one step closer to taxing pot businesses.
The City Council voted 6-to-0 in favor of putting put a marijuana tax on the November ballot.
City officials are still finalizing regulations for recreational salesbut they want to have a tax ready to go on retail, manufacturing and cultivation.
Estimates say it could bring in more than $2 million a year.
