Sanchez Helps Giants Shut Out Angels
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Jonathan Sanchez pitched six sharp innings to lead the San Francisco Giants to a 4-0 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday night.
Sanchez allowed one hit in his fourth spring start—Chris Pettit's sharp grounder off the glove of shortstop Miguel Tejada in the first inning. The left-hander struck out five, walked one and hit a batter with a pitch.
Pablo Sandoval and Pat Burrell each had a run-scoring double in San Francisco's three-run fourth against Dan Haren.
Giants closer Brian Wilson, wearing green St. Patrick's Day spikes, pitched a scoreless seventh inning, walking one batter.
