San Pablo Couple Found Dead In Murder-Suicide
SAN PABLO (CBS SF) - A man and woman died this week in an apparent murder-suicide at the couple's home in San Pablo, a police detective said Friday.
Cenobia Gonzales, 47, and Steven Nilsson, 51, were found dead after police got a call at about 2:40 p.m. Thursday from a family member who hadn't heard from them for a few days and went to their house in the 2900 block of Willow Road to check up on them, San Pablo police Detective David Neece said.
The door to the house was locked, but the family member looked in a window and saw one of the bodies, Neece said.
Police responded and found Gonzales and Nilsson dead from gunshot wounds to the head in the house's living room.
Based on the evidence at the scene, it appears Nilsson shot Gonzales before shooting himself, Neece said.
According to family members, the pair had been boyfriend and girlfriend for about 10 years, and had a history of domestic violence issues, Neece said.
He said the shooting happened "some time within the past few days," but investigators do not know exactly when it occurred because neighbors did not hear any gunshots or disturbance.
