San Mateo Sheriff's Deputies Seek Suspect Who Slapped Millbrae Woman's Buttocks Then Fled

MILLBRAE (CBS SF) -- A woman was sexually battered in front of her Millbrae home early Sunday morning, according to San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

Around 1 a.m., the woman arrived at her home on Palm Avenue and was heading to the front door where the male suspect approached her from behind, sheriff's officials said.

He slapped her once on her buttocks then immediately said, "I thought you were my girlfriend," according to deputies.

The suspect then placed his hooded sweatshirt over his head and fled, according to sheriff's officials.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall, roughly 180 pounds and with a slight Spanish accent, sheriff's officials said.

He was wearing blue jeans and a blue sweatshirt during the incident, according to the sheriff's office.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call detectives at the San Mateo County Sheriff's Millbrae police bureau at (650) 259-2300.
