San Mateo Man Accused Of Impersonating Police Officer
REDWOOD CITY (BCN) -- A man believed to have impersonated a police officer and tried to pull people over in Millbrae and Pacifica was arrested after a similar incident took place in downtown Redwood City on Monday night.
San Mateo resident Allen Grabovetsky, 19, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. when police responded to a report of a man impersonating an officer in downtown Redwood City near Jefferson Avenue and Broadway Street, according to police.
Grabovetsky matched the description of a man who had allegedly made other attempts to pull people over in Millbrae and Pacifica earlier in the day, according to police.
Police released a countywide broadcast to be on the lookout for a man driving a dark-colored pickup truck with a flashing light trying to make illegal stops on citizens.
Redwood City police stopped Grabovetsky near Broadway and Walnut streets and arrested him after he was identified by a 24-year-old San Carlos man as the alleged impersonator.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect is urged to contact Redwood City police at (650) 780-7100.
