San Mateo Man Accused Of Illegal Gun Sales From Home
SAN MATEO (CBS / AP) -- A San Mateo man is facing charges for running what's being described as an illegal gun sales operation out of his home.
San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said 35-year-old Antonio Infante was arrested after police found an SKS assault rifle, high-capacity magazines, three pistols and hundreds of rounds of ammunition during a raid of his home last Friday.
Investigators said none of the weapons appear to be stolen or tied to other crimes, but the guns will be sent to a crime lab for testing. One of the weapons did have its serial number removed.
Wagstaffe told the San Mateo County Times that in addition to being charged with possessing an assault rifle and high-capacity magazines, Infante is also accused of being a felon in possession of firearms because of a 1996 marijuana sales conviction.
Infante did not enter a plea during his initial court appearance Tuesday.
