San Leandro Man Stabbed To Death In His Home
SAN LEANDRO (BCN) - A San Leandro man was fatally stabbed during an argument at his home Wednesday evening, a police lieutenant said.
Police received a 911 call reporting a stabbing at a home in the 1300 block of Lillian Avenue at about 5 p.m.
Officers arrived to find Paul Meyer, 46, lying on the floor with a stab wound to his chest, Lt. Jeff Tudor said.
Emergency responders treated Meyer at the scene then transported him to Eden Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Officers found the suspect, Scott Roberts, 41, of San Leandro, in the 1900 block of Louise Street. Police said Roberts was running away from the home and holding a knife.
"He was fairly close by," Tudor said. "He was holding a knife. It appears to be the weapon used in the murder."
Friends and acquaintances who were also at the home called the police to report the stabbing but were unable to tell investigators what prompted the argument between the two men, Tudor said.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the case, he said.
