San Leandro High Student Arrested With Gun
SAN LEANDRO (CBS/AP) - Police arrested a San Leandro High School student Friday morning after campus security said he was carrying a loaded handgun.
School security was called around 10:45 a.m. Friday after the student refused hand over a cell phone to a teacher.
San Leandro police Lt. Greg Lemmon told the media that when guards found the loaded handgun when they searched the teen. They also found what was believed to be a small amount of marijuana.
Police have not released the name of the student because he is a minor. They believe he is 15-years-old.
After his arrest, the boy was taken to Alameda County Juvenile Hall.
