1 Killed, 2 Injured In San Leandro Crash
SAN LEANDRO (CBS SF) -- A woman who was killed Sunday in an early-morning crash in San Leandro has been identified as 57-year-old Lomia Faumuina, according to the Alameda County coroner's bureau.
Faumuina was the passenger in a vehicle that was struck head on in the 14500 block of Washington Boulevard at about 2:30 a.m., according to San Leandro police.
An officer had reported seeing a vehicle traveling at speeds up to 100 mph before hitting the victim's vehicle, police said.
Faumuina was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect's vehicle lit on fire after the driver was pulled out by first responders, police said.
The drivers of both vehicles were hospitalized and reported to be in serious condition.
It was unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation by San Leandro police.
