San Jose Tech Museum Targets An Older Crowd
SAN JOSE (KCBS) – While kids do love visiting San Jose's Tech Museum, officials there are trying to dispel the perception that it's just for children.
"It is not just for kids," said Elizabeth Williams, marketing vice president of the museum. "I think our new exhibits in particular that we just put in last year, including the Tech Silicon Valley Innovation Gallery, and four other exhibits that were supported by Intel, Adobe, Nvidia and Google. Those apply to children ages 8 to 88."
KCBS' Mike Colgan Reports:
Williams said they're also adding the number of travelling exhibitions, and a happy hour.
"After Hours is a new program that we're going to launch on Wednesday July 6th," said Williams. "It's about technology entertainment and cocktails for people 21 and older. It will be the first Wednesday of every single month, and each one will be different."
The Tech Museum, which opened in 1990, draws a half a million visitors each year.
