San Jose State Signs 23 Football Players, Adds Depth

SAN JOSE (AP) ― High school senior quarterback Joe Gray and five junior college transfers highlighted the 23 players who signed with San Jose State on Wednesday.

Gray, who played the last two years at Dorsey High in Los Angeles, was rated among the top 50 quarterbacks by some publications and could be given a chance to earn the starting job right away.

Spartans coach Mike MacIntyre said he hoped the five JC transfers would make an immediate impact on the team.

Defensive back Robert Fiscalini, tight end Travis Lorius, offensive lineman Jon Meyer, tight end Max Miller and defensive lineman David Tuitupou are all currently enrolled at San Jose State, as are lineman David Catalano and defensive back Simon Connette.

Cousins Marced Kelly and Hector Roach, seniors at Edison High in Stockton, signed with the Spartans late Wednesday.
