San Jose Shooting Death Marks City's 33rd Homicide

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Police were investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Thursday night in San Jose, marking the city's 33rd homicide of the year.

Police responded to reports of a person who had been shot at the intersection of S. King Road and Burdette Drive at approximately 10:51 p.m.

Upon arrival, police located a male victim, believed to be an 18-year-old San Jose resident, suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to Regional Medical Center of San Jose, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

There were no suspects at the scene when officers arrived. No arrests had been made in this case and it is unknown whether this homicide is gang related, police said.

Police had not identified the motive and circumstances of the shooting and the incident remained under investigation.
