San Jose Police Officer Leaks Photo Of Mayor Reed's Traffic Ticket
SAN JOSE (CBS / AP) -- A police chief has scolded his officers for the Internet posting of a photograph of a traffic citation given to San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed.
Chief Chris Moore said Wednesday he's launching an internal investigation into who in his department leaked a photograph.
The San Jose Mercury News said Reed was driving his blue Toyota Prius to City Hall when he was pulled over for allegedly failing to signal a turn.
A short time later, an officer took a photo of the citation and it was posted on a social media website.
In a department memo, Moore issued a stern warning to officers that such conduct violates department policy.
Reed has been at odds with the San Jose Police Officers' Association and other unions for a June ballot measure to pare city worker pensions. Voters overwhelmingly approved the measure and the officers' union is suing to block its provisions.
