Teen Stabbed To Death Near San Jose High School
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) — A teen was stabbed to death in San Jose Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Officers responded around 3:15 p.m. to the 300 block of North 21st Street, near San Jose High School.
Crews performed CPR, but the man was pronounced dead about 15 minutes later.
San Jose Police Spokesman Albert Morales said at a news briefing late Wednesday afternoon that when officers arrived, they discovered a male who had suffered at least one stab wound.
"Currently we don't have any motive. We don't have any suspects in custody and our homicide investigators are on scene canvassing the neighborhood to try and locate witnesses and potential suspects," Morales said.
According to police the incident began as an altercation in front of the high school.
The victim's identity is not being released until authorities notify the next of kin.
No suspects are in custody and the motive remains under investigation, but police said the stabbing may be gang-related.
Authorities said the stabbing was San Jose's fifth homicide of the year.
