San Jose Police Arrest Second Suspect In Home Invasion Robbery And Sexual Assault
SAN JOSE (KCBS) – San Jose police have arrested the second suspect involved in a home invasion robbery and sexual assault early Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred at about 4:00 a.m. on July 1 on the 1500 block of Sunshadow Lane. Police said two teen suspects broke into the home and at some point, sexually assaulted an 85-year-old woman.
They stole the couple's SUV and after a pursuit by the California Highway Patrol and San Jose police, crashed into a home at Singleton Road and Senter Road. One juvenile was taken into custody, while the second suspect fled the scene on foot.
Police said that after an intensive investigation, officers were able to identify and apprehend the second juvenile suspect involved in the crime at about 3:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
The victims, both in their 80s, are said to be doing okay physically. Police have not said if the couple was targeted or if the home invasion was a random attack.
