San Jose Hit & Run Death Still a Mystery

Investigators are still looking for answers in a fatal hit-and-run accident involving a cyclist in San Jose this week because there were no eye-witnesses to the accident that happened in a remote part of the city.

Officer Jose Garcia with San Jose Police says their investigators have very little to go on, since no one reported seeing the collision, only finding the body of the cyclist along the side of the road. The damage to the bike points to an impact with a vehicle, but Garcia says they need help from the public to identify the driver.

"If anyone saw anything, even if they think that it doesn't really matter, or it's not important, it may be the vital piece of information that we need to put this case together," said Garcia.

The identity of the 25-year-old man is being withheld pending notification of family. Police continue to be concerned about bicycle and pedestrian safety following several recent hit-and-run accidents in Santa Clara County.
