San Jose Highway 87 Reopened After Fatal Motorcycle Crash
SAN JOSE (CBS/BCN) - All lanes of northbound state Highway 87 in San Jose were re-opened following a fatal motorcycle accident Tuesday morning that blocked traffic just south of Curtner Avenue, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The crash, which possibly involved two other vehicles, occurred shortly after 4 a.m., CHP officer Jonathan Short said.
The victim had not yet been identified, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.
A Sig-alert was issued at 4:35 a.m., and that alert was cancelled when the roadway re-opened shortly before 7 a.m.
Northbound traffic on state Highway 87 in San Jose had been trickling through the right-hand shoulder after the crash closed all northbound lanes, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
