San Jose City Council OK's Crime Fighting Drone For City's Police Department
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- The San Jose city council has given the police department the go-ahead to use a new drone for crime fighting.
The drone is part of a one year pilot plan, and city leaders assured the public the drone will not be used for spying.
The drone will be used to find suspects in hiding or search for an explosive device.
The FAA still needs to give the department final approval.
