San Francisco's Best Comedy Clubs

San Francisco is one of the stand-up comedy capitals in the world. Many hilarious comedy legends got their start here, including Robin Williams, Dana Carvey and Margaret Cho. Kick back and laugh at these world-class venues for one of San Francisco's best exports: comedy!

 

 
Cobb's Comedy Club is the biggest and best space to see national acts in San Francisco. Featuring a full bar and a surprisingly good menu, Cobb's requires the standard two-drink minimum to see your favorite stars. Cobb's is also home to a huge New Year's Eve Comedy Show should you wish to start your new year off with a laugh.

 

 
The Punchline sits right in the heart of downtown San Francisco, surrounded by the city skyscrapers and featuring some of the best national talent in stand-up comedy. The venue is small but the laughts are big at the Punchline, which offers a full menu and an up close and personal experience with talen like Dave Chappelle, Zach Galifianakis and Wanda Sykes.

 

 
The Purple Onion is not your typical comedy club. This unique cellar nightclub full of local history and is considered the birthplace of the legendary San Francisco comedy scene. SF Weekly named the Purple Onion both "Best Comedy Club" and "Best Historic Nightclub." Enjoy an authentic italian dinner upstairs at Macaroni Sciuè Sciuè, before you giggle and gufaw at future stars of comedy. Each week, the Purple Onion brings audiences the best and brightest of San Francisco's exciting stand-up scene.
