1 Dead, 2 Seriously Hurt in SF Mission District Shooting
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/AP/BCN) -- One man is dead and two are in the hospital following a shooting Thursday afternoon in San Francisco's Mission District, police and a spokesman for Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital said.
San Francisco Police Department spokesman Joseph Tomlinson said the shooting occurred around 3:20 p.m. Thursday in the 1400 block of Treat Avenue near Cesar Chavez Street. Tomlinson said shortly after the shooting that two victims were taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital in unknown condition. He said no arrests were made.
San Francisco General Hospital spokesman Brent Andrew, however, said the hospital received three gunshots victims and one died. Andrew said one victim is in serious condition and the other in critical condition. He declined to release their names.
All the victims are men in their 20s. One of the survivors is in critical condition and the other is in serious condition, Andrew said.
A man who drove the victims to the hospital was handcuffed by police when, they say, he refused their orders to get out of the car.
Late Thursday night, medical examiners identified the deceased victim as Jaime Poole, age 21, of San Francisco.
