San Francisco Rideshare Drivers Given Extension For Business Permits
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- Uber and Lyft drivers in San Francisco who haven't yet registered as businesses are getting a reprieve.
The city's Tax Collector's Office in April notified 37,000 drivers that as independent contractors they had 30 days to register as a business with the city.
That deadline has now been extended to August 31st.
Drivers who have registered and were penalized for doing it late will get refunds.
