San Francisco Restaurants Dish Out Dining Deals
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – If you've been dying to try out some new restaurants in San Francisco, many are offering specials until the end of the month.
The 10th Annual Dine About Town event offers deals at some of the top restaurants in the city, including Ruth's Chris Steak House on Van Ness Avenue.
"We've participated for the last five years. It's a great program in the city that allows people to try out restaurants that they normally perhaps wouldn't," said Ruth's Chris General Manager Rich Zamora.
KCBS' Mark Seelig Reports:
Laurie Armstrong with the San Francisco Convention and Visitor's Bureau said the event has grown over the years.
"Originally when we started Dine About Town, it was more related to the after effects of 9-11," she said. "But in this economic climate, it makes more sense than ever to get out and get a good deal when you're dining out."
And Zamora said there are good deals all around the city.
"It's a $34.95 price point throughout the city. Each restaurant designs their own menu," said Zamora. "We happen to just take our regular items off of our menu."
Some of the restaurants are offering a lunch option, while others do either lunch, dinner or both.
Armstrong said the event is a great way of supporting those who work in the restaurant industry along with the local economy.
