San Francisco Rape Suspect Arrested Following Tip
SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) - A suspect in a sexual assault at a San Francisco public housing development earlier this week was arrested Friday, according to police.
Damir Shalako, 25, was taken into custody at Rolph Park at 26th and Hampshire streets in the Mission District at about 1 p.m., according to police spokesman Sgt. Troy Dangerfield.
Shalako is suspected in the rape, robbery and beating of a 45-year-old woman Tuesday around noon at the Potrero Hill Housing Authority Development.
Shalako had been released on parole from prison only days before the alleged attack, and was visiting family at the housing development, according to Dangerfield.
Police credited a resident who saw Shalako at the park and called the department's anonymous tip line.
