San Francisco Preps For 4/20 Celebration As Thousands Expected To Flood Golden Gate Park
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A thick, smoky haze may be visible over San Francisco Monday as thousands of people are expected to flood the city for an annual 4/20 celebration for marijuana enthusiasts.
Last year, the city spent $100,000 on extra police, and to clean up the mess left behind in Golden Gate Park near the Haight. City leaders admit there are just too many people to ticket.
"It's just crazy, it's not gonna happen," Supervisor London Breed told KPIX 5.
Store owners in the area are hoping sales will be high.
"It's definitely good for the business," Johathan Abola of New Era said.
