Problem Intersections In SF Castro, Mission Districts Monitored After Deadly Bike Crash
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - Motorcycle patrols have been monitoring two problematic San Francisco intersections at peak hours as part of stepped up traffic enforcement after a deadly pedestrian-cyclist crash.
The intersection of Castro and Market streets, where an elderly man was hit in a crosswalk by a bicyclist and later died, will be monitored along with busy 16th and Mission, said Capt. Robert Moser.
Moser has directed his officers at Mission Station to pay attention to bicyclists and pedestrians who flout traffic laws as well as motorists.
"Not just cars, we're interested in everybody. Everybody has to share the road. Everybody has to obey the law," he said.

Cyclists have lamented the focus on the few who disobey traffic laws since the March 29 crash that killed 71-year-old Sutchi Hui. Prosecutors are investigating whether the cyclist, Chris Bucchere, may have been racing through city streets after an early morning ride in Marin County.
Moser said the traffic enforcement was just one priority at Mission Station. He said officers have been meeting with community groups to prepare for the Carnivale parade and street fair in May.
