San Francisco Police Chief Victim Of Car Burglary
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A recent victim of a vehicle burglary in San Francisco was none other than the man in charge of solving that and all the city's other crimes -- police Chief Greg Suhr.
Suhr said the burglary happened a few weeks ago outside his home in the city's Golden Gate Heights neighborhood.
The suspect or suspects broke into the car and stole a jacket inside of it, the chief said.
He revealed details of the crime while talking to residents of the city's Marina District at a town hall meeting Wednesday about a recent police shooting that injured an armed robbery suspect.
Suhr told residents in the typically quiet neighborhood that occasionally crime happens in unlikely places—or to unlikely people.
"I'm not immune," he said.
Suhr said his burglary case remains unsolved.
