San Francisco Man Killed In Fatal 280 Wreck Near Woodside
WOODSIDE (CBS SF) - A man who died in a crash off of Interstate Highway 280 in Woodside early Monday morning has been identified as 30-year-old Steven Shalendra Raj, according to the San Mateo County coroner's office.
The San Francisco resident was driving south on Highway 280 when he lost control of his Honda and veered off the road near Farm Hill Boulevard about 1:15 a.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Art Montiel said.
Raj's car struck a tree and he was ejected onto the roadway, Montiel said.
He was then struck by a Chevrolet driven by a 41-year-old Redwood City man, according to the CHP.
Raj was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured and stopped at the scene.
Alcohol appeared to have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation, Montiel said.
