San Francisco Man Arrested For Setting Marina District Dock Fire

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A 48-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson for allegedly setting a fire on the dock of Gashouse Cove in San Francisco's Marina District last week, police said Monday.

Andrew Glenn Rice, a San Francisco resident, was arrested in connection with the fire, which occurred shortly before 6:55 a.m. last Wednesday at the dock in the first block of Marina Boulevard, police said.

Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set and developed information linking the arson to Rice, who was arrested a day later, according to police.

Rice was booked into jail on suspicion of arson, possession of a combustible substance with willful and malicious intent and trespassing.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Police Department's arson task force at (415) 920-2933 or the anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444.
