2 Rescued From Waters Off San Francisco On Memorial Day
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – Firefighters rescued at least two people from the waters around San Francisco in separate incidents Monday afternoon.
The San Francisco Fire Department's beach patrol entered the waters of Ocean Beach in the vicinity of Great Highway and Sloat Boulevard around 3:20 p.m., firefighters said on Twitter.
Rescue swimmers had retrieved a 13-year-old girl from the water by 3:35 p.m. She was evaluated at the scene, but information about the victim's condition was not immediately available.
Firefighters advised beachgoers to watch out for large waves in shallow water.
Around 4:15 p.m., firefighters said that another rescue was underway near Red's Java House on Pier 30, in the vicinity of Embarcadero and Bryant Street.
That victim was safely out of the water by 4:25 p.m.
The victim was assessed by medics, but information about the person's condition was not immediately available.
