San Francisco Could Be Easing Weekend Taxi Woes
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)- Plans are in the works to hold a hearing on whether more cabs should be put on San Francisco streets during peak periods, especially during weekend nights.
KCBS' Bob Melrose Reports:
People looking for cabs on busy nights are often disappointed, especially if they live in a quieter neighborhood, such as the Sunset, or Noe Valley. But Malcolm Heinicke of the MTA has suggested a hearing to put more cabs on the street during peak periods.
Cabbies are upset at the idea, saying business is already down, and limo drivers, who do not use fare meters are grabbing a lot of their fares.
